Name

uid - find available user ID (UID)

Synopsis

uid I<min-uid> I<max-uid>

Description

The uid program searches for the first available user ID in the range min-uid...max-uid.

Options

-c min max

configures min and max as permanent defaults for minimum and maximum UID .
-u removes permanent settings for minimum and maximum UID .

Return Value

On successfull completion the program returns 0, otherwise 1.

uid 3111 4000
