Name
text2lat - Text to LaTeX converter.
Synopsis
text2lat [<option>] [ <inputfile> [<outputfile>] ]
Description
The program converts ASCII text to LaTeX source code. Some of the text characters (i.e. ''_'') can not be used literally, a LaTeX code (i.e. ''\textunderline{}'') must be used instead.
Options
- -h
Show a help text.
- Long option: --help
- -v
Show the version number.
- Long option: --version
- -c
Configure the program (set the options in the command line as permanent options).
- Long option: --configure
- -C
Show the permanent options.
- Long option: --show-configuration
- -u
Unconfigure, remove the permanent options set by the user.
- Long option: --unconfigure
- -r
Reset the program, skip permanent options set by the user and defaults set by the administrator, use built-in defaults instead.
- This option must appear before any of the following options.
Long option: --reset
- -e encoding
- Long option: --help
- Specify an input encoding, either ''latin-1'', ''utf-8'', or ''automatic''. For ''automatic'' the program inspects the LANG environment variable whether it ends on ''.UTF-8''.
- -n
Converts newlines to ''\\'' and newline.
-n-
Passes newlines through without conversion to ''\\''.
-s
Converts spaces to ''~''.

- Passes spaces through without conversion.
Return Value
The program returns exit status code 0 on success, all other values indicate errors.
Environment
- LANG
is checked for ''.UTF-8'' when -e is set to ''automatic''.
