pdfcmb(1) - Linux man page
Name
pdfcmb - PDF change MediaBox
Synopsis
pdfcmb llx lly urx ury
Description
This program changes the MediaBox entry in a PDF file. It runs as a filter, reading a PDF file from standard input and writing a cropped PDF file to standard output.
If one cuts a PostScript file using epsffit and converts it to PDF using ps2pdf the resulting PDF is not yet cropped to the bounding box established by epsffit. The pdfcmb program does this final cropping step on PDFs generated using epsffit/ps2pdf.
Note: See the RESTRICTIONS section.
Return Value
The program returns exit code 0 on success, a positive value on errors.
Examples
epsffit 16 16 464 352 < a4landscape.ps > a5landscape.ps ps2pdf a5landscape.ps x.pdf pdfcmb 0 0 480 368 < x.pdf > a5landscape.pdf
Restrictions
The program is only intended for for PDF files generated by ps2pdf from PS files which were cropped using epsffit as shown in the example above.
The program simply replaces a string in the /MediaBox entry in the PDF file. The new media box string must be less than or equal in length to the existing media box string in the file.
